Campsite

  • Is the park open all year round?

Our campsite is open all year round. If our campsite is less accessible due to weather conditions, you can use the 11 paved pitches with your caravan or camper. These are equipped with water (if it does not freeze), electricity and sewage and are beautifully situated overlooking the Oude Maas and our port.

  • Can we arrive outside reception opening hours?

If you expect to arrive at the reception after work? Please indicate this when making your reservation and we will explain how it works.

  • It is my departure day and I have to check out at 12 o’clock. Can I leave later than 12 o’clock?

Unfortunately, all comes to an end. This also applies to your beautiful holiday. Luckily, you don’t have to hurry in the morning, because the place has to be left at 12 noon. It is possible to book another half day for payment if the pitch is still free (except for camper and comfort pitches in high season and weekend). This means that you can stay at the campsite until 7 p.m. In high season this is sometimes not possible due to bookings.  New guests arrive at 12 o’clock.  Longer stay is not possible on the camper pitches on Friday Saturday and Sunday.

  • Do you accept discount cards?

We are listed in the ACSI manual,  every year we are checked by them, but we have our own offers. Click here  for more information.

  • I have a preference for a specific place on your campsite, can I reserve it?

We do our best to fulfill your wishes, but cannot guarantee this.

  • When do I have to pay?

The total amount due must be paid in cash or by pin upon arrival. Long-term campsites are subject to different payment conditions.

  • Is there a restaurant on the campsite?

We don’t have a restaurant. There are several restaurants in the area, some of which are within walking distance.

  • Can I swim in the Oude Maas and in your harbour?

When it’s hot, it’s tempting to cool off in the Oude Maas. But swimming in the river and in our harbour is dangerous because of the strong currents and therefore not allowed.

  • Which TV channels do you have and what do I need to receive them?

Satellite is available on most locations

  • Can I rent (electric) bikes at the campsite?

At the reception it is possible to rent bicycles (with a child seat) so that you can discover our beautiful surroundings. You are welcome to enquire at our reception about the free routes. We do not rent out electric bicycles.

  • Are dogs allowed on the campsite?

Dogs are welcome but please keep them on a leash. One dog is allowed per pitch.
    For costs see rates .

  • Are cars allowed on the campsite?

On our comfort pitches one car per pitch is allowed and can be parked near the pitch. This does not apply to our campsite; this field is car-free. In this case, you can park your car free of charge in our car park. A second car must always be parked in the car park. More information under prices.

  • Is barbecuing allowed on the campsite?

Barbecues are only allowed on the campsite if the necessary precautions are taken. Use a safe barbecue, keep fire extinguishers and do not use spirit but firelighters. Fire baskets are not allowed on the campsite.

  • Can I add a tent to my pitch?

An additional tent of up to 4m2 is allowed. More information under Rates.

  • How many Ampere electricity do the pitches on the campsite have?

All pitches on the campsite have 10 ampere electricity. The camper and comfort pitches have a 16 ampere.

  • Is there a drain on the pitches?

The drain is only possible on the pitches of the campers. At the back of  our sanitary  buildings there is the possibility to empty your chemical toilet and for campers there is also a camper service point for emptying the sewage tank.

  • Is wifi available?

At the campsite you can use our internet connection (basic wifi) free of charge. For faster internet and if you want to stream Netflix, for example, we sell WIFI tickets.

  • Is the campsite accessible for the disabled?

In our park there is a toilet and a shower for disabled. Please indicate this when making your reservation and we will reserve a place near the sanitary buildings

  • Is permanent residence permitted?

Permanent residence is not permitted. You must have a permanent home or accommodation.

  • Do I have to pay for my visitors?

Visitors are welcome in our park. You do not have to pay for them (only parking fees if your visit comes by car). Overnight guests pay per night. More information under Rates.

  • Can I freeze cooling elements?

Yes, you can leave your cooling elements at our reception. The staff will then place them in the large freezer.

  • Is the campsite also accessible by public transport?

The train station of Barendrecht is less than 3 km away. You can park your car here free of charge. This station also has a bicycle parking area. The cities of Rotterdam and Dordrecht are easily accessible from Barendrecht train station. The local bus is located near Heerjansdam. The bus does not run on Sundays and public holidays. Travellers who use the bus can pay with a chip card.

This is what our guests say:

As more than 9 years old, I am a satisfied customer and have a great time here. There are 2 boats of mine here, one in the summer in the harbor and in winter on shore and the other, a somewhat smaller boat, is on shore all year round. With that boat I make use of the wide and easy trailer slipway all year round. The terrain and the harbour are well maintained, very neat and tidy and it is well organized. What I am also happy with is that it is easily accessible and well secured. Without good and motivated staff this is of course not possible. I will stay here for a while!

During the May holidays we camped with our girls (4 & 6 years old) on the field with the new playground. They had such a good time! In addition, the sanitary is new and clean, the staff friendly, and there is much to do in the immediate vicinity. We can recommend it to everyone!

It is with great pleasure that we have been visiting Recreatiepark de Oude Maas for many years. We stand with our tour caravan on - we think - one of the most beautiful places on the park, namely on one of the comfort pitches with a wonderful view over the river. Our boat is located in the marina next door because I love to fish on the Oude Maas. In the evening we sit in front of our caravan enjoying a drink and the sunset.

By coincidence we discovered the camper pitches at Recreatiepark de Oude Maas on our way to the South of France. Since that one time we come back regularly to relax for a couple of nights on one of the 11 camper pitches overlooking the marina or the river. They are spacious paved pitches with their own electricity and water. In the morning we get freshly baked sandwiches and croissants at the reception and look for a nice cycling route for that day. That's all you need, isn't it?

Since 1998 we have been located at Recreatiepark de Oude Maas, then called Camping de Oude Maas. The past 20 years we have seen a lot of changes and improvements. There used to be a canteen and a phone booth because not everyone had a cell phone and you had to go to the cell to make a phone call. In 2001 chalets were placed and all mobile homes came together on 1 field where we are. The toilet blocks have been completely renovated and there are now underground containers for separated waste. Also all the paths have been recently refurbished and new mobile homes have been placed for rental but also for sale. We love it here on the campsite; it's quiet but still very cosy.
